Design Services Performed:

Description:

1200 - 2500 MHz RF Source subassembly. The design consists of: Fractional N PLL, modular VCO, Dividers, RF harmonic filters, AGC leveling loop, and output amplifiers. The 4 layer PCB was designed with Coplanar waveguide over groundplane and Stripline techniques for very low sensitivity to manufacturing tolerances and very low assembly costs.

  • 1.2 to 2.5 GHz RF Source.
  • Low phase noise: -100 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset
  • Fractional N PLL design with < 1 Hz resolution.
  • AGC leveled, 14 dBm output power.
  • Precision AGC with < 2 dB output power drift over 0 to 60 Deg C temperature range.
  • Switched harmonic filters.
  • Self contained calibration DAC's and power supplies.
  • Three wire serial system interface.
  • Environmentally rugged design, -40 to 70 Deg C operating range.
  • Full test software with GUI was written to allow board turn on and independent testing.
