Description:

This 12:1, solid-state RF switch matrix was built for a test system application (Test and measurement application). The four layer PCB was designed with Coplanar waveguide over groundplane and Stripline techniques for very low sensitivity to manufacturing tolerances and very low assembly costs. One of the key tasks of the design was to carefully characterize the temperature performance of the matrix loss versus temperature so a loss correction versus temperature algorithm could be developed.

  • 12:1, 50 ohm, RF multiplexer design
  • 500 MHz to 2.5 GHz frequency range.
  • High third order intercept point (> 45 dBm).
  • Greater than 130 dB port to port isolation at 2.2 GHz.
  • Greater than 15 dB input port return loss.
  • 50 Ohm terminated input ports when not selected.
  • Very low power PHEMT switch matrix design.
  • Three wire serial interface.
  • Also designed a full PC controlled, GUI driven software and test fixture for independent test.
